In this YouTube video (click continue reading), I take you on a tour of my town during the 6th annual Leelanau UnCaged Festival. Every September, Northport, Michigan hosts “Leelanau UnCaged”; a music, dance, art, and food festival. It’s a pretty remarkable festival given that, from start to finish, set-up to tear down, it’s all the work of volunteers and it’s completely free to the public. I was a small part of the volunteer team during this year’s festival. I worked a morning shift to help with the set up of the art market and, just for fun, I shot this video.
Truth be told, I am not a big fan of festivals, but Leelanau Uncaged is one of my favorite Northport and Leelanau County events because of its outstanding entertainment, food, and art offerings. Also, you can’t beat its quaint and beautiful village setting.
Speaking of festivals …. even though I’m not a fan, one of my “one days” is … “one day, I’m going to go to a Bluegrass music festival”. Are you a fan of festivals? Anyone know of any good Bluegrass music festivals?
